Lyndsey Kohn, Kripalu Yoga Instructor - offering Yoga, Yoga Dance, Thai Massage, Pilates, and Reiki
Greetings and Jai Bhagwan!  Having returned from my recent adventure to the Mothership, aka, Kripalu Center, I feel refreshed and rejuvenated in my own yoga inquiry.  However, more than anything, I feel profound GRATITUDE for the fact that I am fortunate enough to do this for a living. What a blessing it is that people take time out of their busy schedules to practice with me, and to reconnect with their inner peace and wisdom, even when the storms of life flare up all around them.  I get to watch the lotus flowers reaching for the sun, and blossoming into a more fully realized existence.
Being back in the Kripalu community, learning about working with special populations, and getting to know to a new and amazing group of yoga instructors and learning about their journeys on the path of yoga was so inspiring.
Seeing the obstacles that people have come through, or even in the midst of, brought me back once again to the realization that we all experience suffering in this life. But seeing the tenacity of the human spirit in those in my group as well as the students who came in and shared their lives with us, reminded me that there is so much light and beauty within the darkness.
We are often at our best and most open to expanding and learning during those dark periods.  And the things that we often label "problems" are really sacred ground for spiritual growth.   It was a great reminder that as a teacher, COMPASSION must always be at the forefront.  It was also a reminder that NOTHING is impossible, and we all have amazing potential for healing ourselves and others, despite what anyone tells us.
"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
